In a cozy little pad, two pals took a seat,
With a stash of green goodness, oh what a treat!
They lit up a joint, puffed clouds in the air,
Unaware of the journey they soon would ensnare.
“Just a little toke,” said Sam with a grin,
As the weed spun them dizzy, oh where to begin?
“We’ll watch just one movie,” declared silly Liz,
But the couch turned to quicksand, what kind of biz?
With each passing minute, the laughs turned to snorts,
As they debated the merits of avocados and sports.
“Are we still on the couch? Or did we take flight?”
“Maybe we’re lost in the matrix tonight!”
The clock ticked away, but they had lost its face,
Time danced in circles, a whirling embrace.
“Let’s order some pizza,” said Liz with delight,
But forgot they had done that, oh what a plight!
As the sun dipped low, the munchies took reign,
They devoured the snacks, but still felt the pain.
“How can we be hungry?” Sam pondered aloud,
“I just ate five cookies, I’m part of the crowd!”
Hours turned to eons, while myth met their minds,
Time slipped through the cracks, in a haze intertwined.
“Should we check on the world?” Liz asked in a haze,
But what a wild trip, this cannabis maze!
When they finally glanced over, to check what they’d missed,
The world had moved on, in a time-bending twist.
“We’ve been here for ages!” they cried in dismay,
As their friends all convened, “Where have you been, hey?”
With laughter and tales of this great smoky plight,
They vowed to be cautious with herb late at night.
But next time together, with giggles and glee,
They’d embrace the clock’s hands, and just let it be free!
